Abschied vom Frieden is a German-language series set in Prague on the eve of World War I. The Reither family gathers for their traditional New Year's dinner in 1913, but beneath the surface, each member pursues a separate path. Newspaper publisher Alexander falls for the mysterious Irene von Claudi during a business trip to Vienna. His granddaughter Wally is drawn to the enigmatic businessman Marko Gelusich, while his cousin Adrienne becomes involved with the young socialist Joseph Prokop at clandestine anarchist meetings. When Adrienne discovers Joseph is already committed to another woman, she throws herself into the workers' movement alongside her cousin Guido Frank. As Prague's printing workers strike and class tensions escalate, Alexander struggles to integrate Irene into his family's world. The series captures a pivotal moment when personal desires collide with political upheaval and social transformation.
