Fossil(1972)

Fossil is a philosophical drama following a wealthy industrialist who receives a terminal cancer diagnosis while traveling in Europe. Haunted by a glimpse of a Japanese woman, he begins to see her as a manifestation of his approaching death. When he encounters the real woman, they embark on a journey through rural churches, where their conversations become a meditation on mortality and acceptance. Returning to Japan transformed by this experience, the industrialist faces new trials that challenge everything he has learned about living with his fate.
