Maniac Mansion(1990)

Maniac Mansion is a Canadian sitcom created by Eugene Levy that aired from 1990 to 1993 on YTV and The Family Channel. Loosely inspired by the 1987 LucasArts video game, the show shares little thematic ground with its source material despite LucasFilm's involvement as co-producer. The series centers on the eccentric Edison family living in a sprawling mansion in an upscale suburb. Fred Edison, the family patriarch and mad scientist, drives most of the plot through his bizarre experiments. One catastrophic experiment permanently transforms his toddler son Turner into a full-grown man and turns his brother-in-law Harry into a human-headed fly—transformations that stick for the entire series. The show mines comedy from the family's attempts to navigate life with these permanent, surreal consequences.
