Sink or Swim(1980)

Sink or Swim is a BBC sitcom starring Peter Davison as Brian Webber, a struggling young man living above a London petrol station. His pragmatic girlfriend Sonia cares deeply about vegetarianism and ecology, while his arrival of his lazy, cynical younger brother Steve throws his already chaotic life into further disarray. The show ran for three series between 1980 and 1982, written by Alex Shearer. Davison juggled the role alongside his commitment as the Fifth Doctor in Doctor Who, which complicated the production schedule. Like Only Fools and Horses, the series was filmed in Bristol standing in for London, capturing the everyday struggles of characters trying to get by with limited success.
