The Season of Fate

The Season of Fate is a 2010 Hong Kong television drama that follows two struggling tavern owners in a picturesque southern town. Lian Shuangchun and Wang Ruolan depend on each other to keep their business afloat, but poor cooking and personal troubles threaten to sink them. When Ma Yongzhen, a cunning gangster and small-time con artist, crosses paths with Wang Ruolan, he becomes entangled in their lives. After a clash with Lian Shuangchun, Ma Yongzhen decides to infiltrate the tavern as a worker, seeking revenge. What unfolds is a tangle of conflicting ambitions, unlikely alliances, and the question of whether these misfits can find common ground or destroy each other in the process.
