Strumpet City(1980)

Strumpet City is a 1980 Irish television miniseries that brings James Plunkett's 1969 novel to the screen. RTÉ's most ambitious and expensive production at the time, the drama follows James Larkin, a fiery union leader fighting for workers' rights in early 20th-century Dublin. Hugh Leonard adapted the script, while Peter O'Toole delivers a commanding performance as Larkin, capturing the idealism and conflict of the labour movement during a transformative period in Irish history.
