Shrine of the Morning Mist(2002)

Shrine of the Morning Mist is a supernatural anime series following Yuzu Hieda, a high school miko at a local Shinto shrine alongside her two sisters. When her childhood sweetheart unexpectedly returns to town, dark gods take a sudden interest in him, threatening catastrophe. Yuzu must assemble a team of fellow female students into a "Miko Council" to defend against a full-scale mystical invasion. Blending romance, action, and Japanese folklore, the series explores themes of duty, friendship, and spiritual protection as ordinary girls become unlikely guardians against otherworldly forces.
