Charles Endell Esquire(1979)

Charles Endell Esquire is a British comedy-drama spin-off of Budgie, reprising Iain Cuthbertson's role as the scheming title character. The series premiered in 1979, but production was disrupted by an ITV technicians' strike that knocked the network off air for three months. The first two episodes aired before the strike; the remaining four episodes didn't broadcast until May 1980. Only six episodes were made in total, making the run brief but memorable for its sharp writing and Cuthbertson's magnetic performance as the charming, morally flexible Endell navigating London's underworld.
