A Farewell to Sorrow(2005)

A Farewell to Sorrow is a Korean drama about four brothers who reconcile after years of conflict to save their father's failing business. Han Sung-jae, the eldest in his 50s, carries the weight of family leadership despite his gentle nature. His successful but self-absorbed brother Han Sang-kyu wants only to escape his obligations. The third brother Han Sung-min struggles after losing his job in corporate restructuring, while the youngest, Han Jung-woo, faces unemployment fresh out of college. Each sibling embodies a different generation's economic hardship in modern Korea. Beyond their business struggle, the series examines marriage and commitment through couples of various ages fighting to save their relationships. The narrative weaves together themes of familial duty, unconditional love, and redemption as the brothers learn to depend on one another and discover what truly matters.
