Carrie's War(1974)

Carrie's War is a BBC television adaptation of Nina Bawden's novel, following two young evacuees during World War II. Siblings Carrie and Nick Willow are sent to a remote Welsh village, where they're billeted with the stern Mr. Evans and his sister Lou. Carrie soon finds herself caught between warring family members when she becomes an unwilling messenger in a bitter feud between Evans and his estranged elder sister Dilys. The five-part drama explores the tensions and secrets simmering beneath the surface of rural wartime life, as the children navigate the complicated dynamics of their temporary home and discover truths that will change them forever.
