Afrika, mon amour(2007)

Afrika, mon amour is a historical drama set in Berlin and German East Africa during 1914. When Katharina von Strahlberg uncovers her husband Richard's affair with her sister-in-law Martha, she flees Berlin with stolen colonial documents and photographs, traveling to Dar es Salaam with one of Richard's business associates. In the German colony, Katharina struggles to find employment due to her husband's influence, but her prospects brighten when she meets Franz Lukas, an idealistic doctor, and Victor March, a charming Scottish adventurer. As Katharina builds a new life far from her husband's shadow, she discovers independence and unexpected connections in a world on the brink of transformation.
