The Animal Trail(2006)

The Animal Trail is a Japanese drama about a woman at a breaking point. Tamiko has abandoned her dream of becoming a jewelry designer to care for her disabled husband while working at a traditional hotel. When a mysterious stranger named Kotaki offers her an escape—a journey with no destination—Tamiko seizes the chance to transform her life. She kills her husband in a house fire and embarks on a dangerous path, becoming the mistress of a political fixer named Kito. As Tamiko follows this "animal trail" of impulse and desperation, she discovers that freedom comes with unexpected consequences. The series explores whether her drastic choices lead to liberation or ruin, examining the cost of abandoning one life for another.
