After Henry(1988)

After Henry is a British sitcom written by Simon Brett and starring Prunella Scales and Joan Sanderson. Originally a BBC Radio 4 comedy from 1985 to 1989, it was adapted for television by Thames Television. Sarah, a 42-year-old widow of GP Henry France, navigates life with her elderly mother Eleanor and 18-year-old daughter Clare, all sharing one house. Following Henry's death, the three women must learn to cope with each other's quirks and tensions. The BBC initially resisted the project, but three successful radio runs convinced them to commission a television series. The adaptation proved unexpectedly popular, drawing over 14 million viewers. Four seasons aired before Joan Sanderson's death in May 1992, with the final season broadcast posthumously.
