The Pride of the Family(1953)
The Pride of the Family is a half-hour sitcom that aired on ABC during the 1953–1954 season, starring Paul Hartman, Fay Wray, Natalie Wood, and Robert Hyatt across forty episodes. Hartman plays Albie Morrison, a well-meaning but bumbling newspaper advertising manager whose misguided schemes and failed home repairs form the heart of the show. Fay Wray, famous for King Kong, portrays his wife Catherine, while Natalie Wood and Robert Hyatt round out the Morrison household as their teenage children Ann and Junior. Unlike the wiser patriarch of Father Knows Best, which debuted the following season, Albie embodies the everyday struggles of an ordinary American family. The series featured guest appearances from character actors including Barbara Billingsley, Tol Avery, and Douglas Fowley, with Larry J. Blake recurring as family friend Frank across fourteen episodes.
