The Glamorous Imperial Concubine is a historical drama set during China's turbulent Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. After her father is murdered by her uncle in a coup, princess Ma Fuya of Chu escapes with help from a eunuch and falls in love with Meng Qiyou, Prince of Later Shu. Rather than cherish her, he uses her as a political pawn, bringing her into his kingdom where multiple brothers—including Meng Qixing and Meng Qiyun—become infatuated with her. The Emperor himself is drawn to her striking resemblance to Meng Qiyun's mother. Forced into marriage with the Emperor, Ma Fuya's wedding procession is suddenly interrupted by Liu Liancheng, setting her fate on an uncertain path through court intrigue and competing desires.
