Don't Wait Up(1983)

Don't Wait Up is a British comedy series following Doctor Tom Latimer as his marriage to Helen falls apart, just as his father Toby announces his own divorce after 32 years. The two doctors move in together and clash constantly over politics and medical philosophy—Toby represents old-school Harley Street conservatism while Tom leans liberal. Tom attempts to reconcile his parents while pursuing a romance with Madeleine, his father's secretary, whom he eventually marries.
