Women of the Tang Dynasty is a Chinese television series spanning the late reign of Wu Zetian through Emperor Xuanzong's rise to power. Set against the backdrop of one of China's most storied dynasties, the drama traces political intrigue and personal ambition during a pivotal era of transformation. Directed by Chang Hsiao-cheng and produced by Lafeng Entertainment, the series features an ensemble cast drawn from across the region. Filming took place at Hengdian World Studios, beginning in October 2011. The show captures the complex lives of women navigating power, loyalty, and survival in an imperial court where alliances shift and fortunes change with each reign.
