Patalliro! is an anime series following Patalliro du Malyner VIII, the mischievous crown prince of the diamond-rich nation of Malynera. Despite his ugly appearance and difficult personality, Patalliro proves himself a determined heir and devoted son to the king. When enemies of the throne—including the Prime Minister himself—plot to assassinate him and seize control of the kingdom, his haughty but strikingly handsome bodyguard Bancoran takes on the task of keeping the obnoxious prince alive. Complications arise when Maraich, Bancoran's beautiful lover and a skilled bishounen assassin, becomes entangled in the dangerous game of protection and betrayal. The series blends comedy, action, and intrigue as Patalliro navigates court conspiracies and assassination attempts with his reluctant protector at his side.
