Appleseed XIII(2011)

Appleseed XIII is an anime series set in a post-apocalyptic world after World War V, a devastating global conflict that decimated the planet's population. The city-nation of Olympus emerges as humanity's last hope, governed by Gaia, an advanced artificial intelligence, and administered by genetically engineered bioroids. Beneath its utopian surface, Olympus harbors simmering tensions between humans, bioroids, and cyborgs, alongside deep religious and political divisions. As these underlying conflicts intensify, the fragile peace holding the metropolis together begins to crack, threatening to unravel the carefully constructed order. The series explores themes of identity, coexistence, and whether true harmony is possible in a world built on genetic and technological hierarchy.
