Teppan(2010)

Teppan is a Japanese television drama that aired on NHK from 2010 to 2011 as the 83rd Asadora. The series follows Miori Takimoto as a young woman raised by an adoptive family in Onomichi who discovers her real grandmother and decides to move to Osaka to open an okonomiyaki restaurant. The title refers to the metal cooking surface on which okonomiyaki are prepared. Despite being interrupted by the Tohoku Earthquake, Teppan averaged a 17.2% rating, making it the fourth most popular Asadora drama of the previous five years. The show captures the warmth of family discovery and the determination required to build a new life through food and tradition.
