My Sweetheart(1998)

My Sweetheart is a Brazilian series that follows the romantic entanglements of four childhood friends in a small town. Antônio Mourão, an orphan raised by a priest, has just passed his medical school entrance exam and dreams of marrying Rebeca, daughter of his godfather Pastor Bilac. But Lívia, Rebeca's younger sister, has her own ambitions. Sensual and cunning, she wants to escape her life as a lacemaker and small-town church attendant for the excitement of the city. Seeing Antônio as her ticket out, Lívia seduces him despite knowing about his romance with her sister, becoming pregnant in the process. The scandal forces Antônio and Lívia into marriage, uprooting them to the capital and shattering the bonds of their tight-knit group.
