Big Apple(2001)

Big Apple is an American television drama series that aired on CBS in 2001. Two NYPD detectives, Mooney and Trout, partner with the FBI to investigate a murder connected to organized crime in New York City. The narrative weaves in a personal tragedy: Mooney's sister is dying from Lou Gehrig's Disease and receiving hospice care. The series premiered during a competitive season against NBC's ER, but struggled to find its audience. Though CBS ordered 13 episodes, only eight aired before the network canceled the show and replaced it with the newsmagazine 48 Hours. The series later found a second life in syndication on Universal HD in 2008.
