Knights of Sidonia(2014)

Knights of Sidonia is a science fiction anime series set aboard humanity's last refuge, a massive generation ship named Sidonia. After an alien species called the Gauna destroyed Earth a century ago, survivors have lived in isolation, with military service mandatory for all citizens. Nagate Tanikaze emerges from hiding deep within the ship's lower levels, where his grandfather kept him concealed from society. Thrust into the military and trained as a pilot, Nagate must master combat in giant mecha suits just as the Gauna mysteriously return, threatening the ship's fragile existence. The series blends intense space warfare with coming-of-age drama as Nagate discovers his place in a civilization he never knew.
