Brass Eye is a provocative British satirical series in which investigative reporter Chris Morris exposes the absurdities of modern media and public discourse. Each episode tackles contemporary hot-button issues—from drugs and animal welfare to celebrity culture and political hypocrisy—through biting mockumentary segments and elaborate hoaxes. Morris constructs fake news stories and fabricated expert interviews to reveal how easily the press and public can be manipulated by sensationalism and moral panic. The show's 2001 special on child safety became particularly controversial for its unflinching critique of media hysteria.
