Black Cats(2014)

Black Cats is a 1947-set Russian crime drama following OBB Major Yegor Dragun as he investigates a food warehouse robbery in Rostov-on-Don. The Soviet Union lies in ruins after the war, where bread is scarce and human life means little. Criminal gangs prowl the devastated cities under cover of darkness, striking without warning and vanishing like shadows. When Dragun examines the warehouse theft, he suspects the perpetrators are far more dangerous than common thieves. As he digs deeper into the case, he uncovers a conspiracy that reaches beyond street-level crime into the heart of post-war corruption. Black Cats captures the grim reality of Soviet reconstruction, where survival and power collide in the darkness.
