Fried(2015)

Fried is a British comedy series set in the struggling Croydon branch of Seriously Fried Chicken, a low-rent fast food chain. The show follows an unlikely team navigating the greasy world of fast food service under Mary, their eternally optimistic but hopelessly ineffectual manager. Bitter assistant Derek has been waiting years for her job, nursing a grudge since the restaurant's days as a Wimpy. Geeky teenager Joe pines for coworker Amara while fending off Ed, a foul-mouthed self-absorbed colleague who's decided they're best friends. Rounding out the crew is Shontal, perpetually exasperated by the chaos. Each episode finds the staff juggling demanding customers, workplace tensions, and the inescapable stench of deep fryer oil. Fried captures the absurd humor and human drama of minimum-wage service work with sharp wit and affection for its dysfunctional cast.
