Mischievous Kiss: Love in Tokyo is a romantic comedy series following Kotoko Aihara, a cheerful high school student who falls hard for the brilliant and aloof Naoki Irie. When she confesses her feelings, he cruelly rejects her, calling her dumb. Fate intervenes when an earthquake destroys Kotoko's home, forcing her and her father to stay with family friends—who happen to be Naoki's parents.
