Naomi and Kanako(2016)

Naomi and Kanako is a drama series following two college friends whose lives take a dark turn. Naomi Oda works in a department store catering to VIP customers, unfulfilled in her role and dreaming of a career as an art gallery curator. When her friend Kanako confides that her husband Tatsuro, a bank executive, beats her regularly, Naomi urges her to leave. But Kanako fears for her life—Tatsuro's violence has left her trapped. When Naomi spots a Chinese stowaway who bears a striking resemblance to Tatsuro, a dangerous idea takes shape. Together, the two women devise a plan to eliminate the man controlling Kanako's life. What follows is a tense exploration of friendship, desperation, and the lengths people will go to escape abuse.
