Le rêve français is a French series set in the 1960s, following Caribbean islanders who migrate to mainland Europe after their government encourages them to leave the French West Indies. With sugar mills shutting down and poverty mounting at home, these families board ships with hopes of building better lives in what they believe will be a promised land. Instead, they arrive to discover a harsh reality far removed from their expectations. The series explores the collision between dream and disillusionment as these immigrants navigate unfamiliar cities, cultural barriers, and the struggle to establish themselves in a society that doesn't always welcome them.
