Arde Madrid(2018)

Arde Madrid is a Spanish series set in 1961 Madrid under Franco's dictatorship. Ana Mari, a disabled instructor for the regime's women's section, is ordered to infiltrate the household of Hollywood star Ava Gardner as a maid. To maintain her cover, she enters into a fake marriage with Manolo, a small-time hustler who lands work as Gardner's driver. What begins as a covert surveillance mission becomes far more complicated as Ana Mari navigates the collision between her rigid ideological world and the glamorous, liberated life of the American actress. The series explores themes of identity, desire, and resistance against authoritarian control through the unlikely bond that forms between these two women from opposite worlds.
