The House at Christianshavn(1970)

The House at Christianshavn is a Danish series set in a Copenhagen apartment building where residents navigate work, family, and neighbourhood life. Olsen, a traditionalist mover, Clausen who runs the local pet shop, and career-minded Egon share the building with their wives, the newlywed couple Tue and Rikke, and Meyer, the reluctant caretaker. Emma, who runs the neighbourhood bar Rottehullet, becomes the unlikely hub where the building's most important decisions unfold. Produced by Nordisk Film for Danmarks Radio between 1970 and 1977, the series was directed by Ebbe Langberg, Erik Balling, and Tom Hedegaard, with scripts by acclaimed Danish writers including Leif Panduro, Benny Andersen, and Lise Nørgaard. The show captures everyday conflicts and comedic moments within a tight-knit community.
