Buccaneer(1980)

Buccaneer is a British television series that aired for 13 weeks from April to July 1980, following the rise of a fledgling air freight operation. Bryan Marshall, Pamela Salem and Clifford Rose lead the cast in this drama centred on the challenges of building a commercial airline. The show featured a real Bristol Britannia aircraft operated by Redcoat Air Cargo, painted with the fictional "Redair" livery. Only one series was produced. Shortly after filming wrapped in February 1980, the actual aircraft used in the production crashed near Boston, Massachusetts, killing seven of eight passengers aboard. The tragedy cut short what might have been a longer run for Gerard Glaister's production.
