Sri Ayodhaya is a Thai historical series that spans from the golden age of Ayutthaya under King Phrachaoyuhua Borommakot in the eighteenth century through the kingdom's fall to Burmese forces and its eventual liberation under Taksin the Great, who founded Thonburi as the new capital in 1767. The narrative weaves together the lives of four modern-day characters with their past incarnations, exploring how their connections transcend centuries of upheaval, artistic flourishing, and political transformation. Through this dual timeline, the series examines pivotal moments in Siamese history when culture and learning thrived, then crumbled, before the nation rose again under new leadership.
