A Butterfly Effect –The Murder Analysis Team– is a Japanese crime series following detective Tōko Kisaragi of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. When her senior partner Hideaki Takano prepares to transfer to the Public Security Bureau, a brutal murder disrupts their final week together. A wealthy man is found dead at home with his throat cut and a blue flower placed in the wound; his wife has vanished. An anonymous email arrives at a newspaper from someone claiming to be the killer, offering clues to the missing woman's whereabouts. With Takano's departure imminent, Kisaragi faces mounting pressure to crack the case before losing her mentor. The investigation intensifies as the team races to uncover the killer's identity and locate the victim's wife before time runs out.
