Kura is a New Zealand series following Billy-John, a restless young man determined to escape the monotony of small-town Papakura for the promise of the Gold Coast. Before he can chase his dreams, he must confront the people closest to him: his best mate, his girlfriend, and his tight-knit but chaotic family. As Billy-John prepares to leave, the series explores what it means to outgrow your hometown and the complicated emotions that come with abandoning the people who've always been there.
