At the Bottom(2023)

At the Bottom is a Russian series following Stepa, a 28-year-old recently released from prison who harbors dreams of becoming an elite plumber in Moscow. His plans derail when he inherits his grandmother's cramped room in Nizhny Novgorod, only to discover she left behind a dangerous secret: she was involved with a corrupt policeman. Now that same officer demands Stepa repay a 2.5 million ruble debt or face imprisonment again. Trapped between his desire for a fresh start and the weight of his family's past, Stepa must navigate a web of corruption, desperation, and impossible choices in this darkly comedic drama about survival and redemption in post-Soviet Russia.
