Backbreaking(2022)

Backbreaking is a dramatic series following Rouh, an Egyptian woman deceived by her husband into leaving Egypt for Syria. She discovers herself trapped at an ISIS stronghold, where escape seems impossible. After a harrowing ordeal, Rouh reaches a camp sheltering female ISIS fugitives, but her path home grows increasingly uncertain. Caught between survival and the fading hope of returning to Egypt, she must navigate the complex realities of displacement, trauma, and resilience among women scarred by extremism. The series explores themes of betrayal, displacement, and the struggle for redemption in the aftermath of conflict.
