Cape Town is a South African crime drama following Mat Joubert, a once-decorated police captain whose career and life have unraveled since his wife Lara was murdered while working undercover. Haunted by guilt and uncertainty about his own role in her death, Mat has become a chain-smoking, out-of-shape detective struggling to care about the crime-ridden world around him. As he takes on new cases, Mat is forced to confront the trauma of his past and the unsolved mystery of Lara's murder. To stop the violence plaguing his city, he must relive the nightmare that destroyed him, gradually piecing together the truth while fighting his own demons. The series explores redemption, corruption, and the personal cost of justice in a city gripped by crime.
