Double-edged Axe is a Japanese crime drama following Detective Shibasaki Sachio after his eldest daughter is found stabbed to death. Working with junior detective Kawasumi Shigekatsu, a trusted protégé and family friend, Shibasaki pursues the case relentlessly. But mounting inconsistencies at the crime scene leave them at a dead end, and the case goes cold. Fifteen years later, a retired Shibasaki tends to his gravely ill wife when a newly formed cold case unit reopens the investigation. Kawasumi joins the team, and as they dig deeper, a suspect emerges from the shadows. The series explores the toll of unresolved trauma, the bonds forged through shared loss, and the possibility of justice delayed but not denied.
