Haggard(1990)

Haggard is a British comedy series that aired on ITV from 1990 to 1992. Set in 1777–1778 during the Georgian era, the show follows the misadventures of Squire Haggard, his 25-year-old son Roderick, and their hapless servant Grunge. Based on Michael Green's Squire Haggard's Journal, the series mines comedy from the clash between aristocratic pretension and everyday chaos. Roderick's girlfriend Fanny Foulacre frequently breaks the fourth wall, offering wry commentary on the absurd situations unfolding around her. Yorkshire Television produced the period comedy for ITV, drawing on Green's trademark style of satirizing English social conventions and incompetence.
