Nawaya(2016)

Nawaya is a drama series that follows two Kuwaiti families separated by wealth and circumstance. When Iraq invades Kuwait in 1990, the affluent Sheikha family and the struggling Umm Rakan family both flee to Dubai, forced to live in close quarters until the conflict ends. Years later, back in Kuwait, their children have grown into young adults. Rakan, son of the poorer family, falls in love with Basma from the wealthy household, setting the stage for a romance that crosses the deep class divide that once brought their families together in exile. The series explores how displacement, time, and social hierarchy shape love and belonging.
