On the Couch

On the Couch is an Australian television series dedicated to AFL news and analysis. Hosted by Gerard Healy alongside Mike Sheahan and Paul Roos, the show airs Monday nights on Fox Footy and adopts an informal chat-show format set in a lounge room. Each episode dives deep into current league issues, featuring in-depth discussions and weekly interviews with players and coaches. The program has been a fixture since 2002, moving between Fox Footy and Fox Sports before settling back on Fox Footy from 2012 onward. Robert Walls served as co-host during the show's early years, followed by James Hird, who departed in 2011 when he took a coaching position at Essendon. The series shares stylistic DNA with the now-defunct Talking Footy, which also showcased Sheahan's journalism.
