Palestinian Alienation(2004)
Decades of struggle, one family’s tale.
Palestinian Alienation is a dramatic series that traces the Palestinian Nakba through the experiences of a poor rural family across three decades. Beginning in the 1930s under British Mandate rule, the narrative follows the family through the 1948 massacres and the 1967 defeat, capturing the upheaval that reshaped Palestinian society. Written by Palestinian poet Walid Seif and drawn from his own family history, the series was directed by Syrian filmmaker Hatem Ali. Widely regarded as one of the greatest Arab television dramas ever made, Palestinian Alienation stands as a monumental work of historical witness, collective memory, and human resilience in the face of displacement and loss.
