Red Cross(2015)

Red Cross is a Japanese drama series following Kiyo, a young nursing student from Saga Prefecture who dreams of serving her nation. After completing her rigorous training, Kiyo receives her draft notice and is deployed to Manchuria as a war nurse. There, she tends to wounded soldiers daily, facing the moral complexities of wartime medicine. When a Japanese immigrant named Wataru brings two injured people to her care—including a wounded Chinese civilian named Son—Kiyo must convince Army Surgeon Hideyo to treat the man in secret. Her act of compassion threatens to unravel when Lieutenant Colonel Kisuke discovers the unauthorized treatment, forcing Kiyo to confront the conflict between her humanitarian ideals and military authority.
