Seventh Symphony(2021)

Seventh Symphony is a historical drama set in Leningrad during spring 1942, in the depths of the brutal Nazi siege. Conductor Karl Eliasberg receives an impossible order: perform Shostakovich's Symphony No. 7 with the decimated Grand Symphony Orchestra. Most musicians have died of starvation, been conscripted, or vanished. Yet the Soviet government demands the concert proceed—a defiant signal to the world that Leningrad survives. NKVD officer Anatoly Seregin is assigned to oversee the effort. The film follows Eliasberg's desperate struggle to resurrect the orchestra and stage a performance that will restore hope to a starving city and broadcast Soviet resilience to allies and enemies alike.
