The Translator(2014)

The Translator is a wartime drama set in an occupied Eastern European household where chemistry teacher Andrei Petrovich Starikov, nicknamed "Charlie Chaplin," shelters a diverse group of Ukrainian, Russian, Jewish, Tatar, and Armenian refugees alongside his wife and mother. When German forces arrive, Charlie faces an impossible choice: he must work as a translator at Nazi headquarters to protect his family from persecution. The series explores the moral compromises demanded by war and the impossible loyalties demanded of those caught between occupiers and the vulnerable people depending on them for survival.
