Zekkyo(2019)

Zekkyo is a Japanese crime series that begins when a decomposed body is discovered in a Tokyo apartment. The remains show signs of a "lonely death"—a natural demise gone unnoticed for months—but Detective Ayano suspects foul play. The domestic cats found at the scene appear untrained, raising questions about their true ownership. When Ayano discovers a bankbook hidden in an empty fishbowl, the victim is identified as 36-year-old Suzuki Yoko. As the detective digs deeper, the case unravels into something far darker than initial appearances suggest, challenging assumptions about isolation, neglect, and the circumstances surrounding Yoko's death.
