With the wealthy Leemans controlling local law enforcement, their crimes go unchecked. Sweet-natured underdog Amber Atkins refuses to back down, determined to compete despite the mounting danger around her. As a TV crew documents the pageant for a documentary, the film balances dark humor with genuine stakes, following Amber's fight to survive the pageant and expose the corruption beneath her town's glittering surface.
