The Last of the Finest is a 1989 crime thriller about four L.A.P.D. vice cops fired for their aggressive drug enforcement tactics. When they discover their own superiors are protecting a major drug operation, the officers go rogue. Operating undercover and funding their mission by robbing street-level dealers, the trio—reduced to three after an early death—pursues the kingpin with growing firepower and desperation. The film captures the moral ambiguity of vigilante justice: these men are both heroes and criminals, fighting corruption from outside a system that has betrayed them. Gritty and fast-paced, The Last of the Finest explores what happens when the law itself becomes the enemy.
