Color of a Brisk and Leaping Day(1996)

Color of a Brisk and Leaping Day is a period drama set in post–World War II America. The grandson of a Chinese railroad laborer fights to save the Yosemite Valley Railroad from closure, pursuing his passion for trains instead of joining his father's lucrative business. He secures backing from a wealthy eccentric investor, but the railroad's financial troubles make salvation unlikely. The film explores the doomed romance of his quest against the backdrop of anti-Asian racism that gripped the nation at the war's end. Caught between family duty and personal conviction, the protagonist discovers that some dreams, however noble, may be impossible to rescue.
